Green Festival

I participated in another festival a few weekends ago, and it was a big success! Gorgeous day, lots of shoppers, many sales, and everything went smoothly. However, I left many of my displays and signage 7 hours away in Atlanta, so I made due with what I had and found some great plastic shutters at Goodwill (only $6 for both!) to display bobby pins on. Here are a few pictures from the festival...

I have not posted in over a month!

I just gave Joey a bone... he is now crying as he tries to find a spot to hide it (from whom, I'm not sure): oh the stress of being a dog!

The number of school days left are slowly decreasing. Funny: my to-do list is rapidly increasing...

In the next 4 days I have:

4 assignments
2 tests
1 final
1 project
1 portfolio to update
1 entire apartment to pack up
This is not including the 2 finals I have next week before the u-haul needs to be picked up.

These are the days I wish we could have 28 or 30 hours in a day. I'm not sure how exactly, but I will make it through these last 6 days in one piece.

Oh, looks like Joey finally found a spot worthy of his bone to be telling where I'll find his stash when I move next week!

"Tired of being an oyster, she decided to try life as a pearl for awhile." - CGD

I only have 48 more days as a true college student. After that, I am moving back home and starting a new chapter. How weird is that? It may not be to you, but it is to me! This semester has completely flown by, but I have learned many new things. I also need to hold on as long as I can to this nice schedule I have because, come January, that's all out the window! This semester, I have 4 day weekends and many hours in the afternoon to do whatever I want. I have loved it! But now that I'm on the back-end of midterms, it is going to go by faster and faster.

Some things that have helped pass all that time I have on my hands:

1. Schoolwork (yeah, this has to be parents read this!)
2. My little booger bear, Joey. He rides around with me with his head out the window, and plays and snoozes in the sun, all the while getting tasty peanut butter treats that my dad makes just for him. Ahh the life of a dog.
3. Blogging, a new-found love. Even if no one reads it, I feel so much better after blogging.
4. Reading others' blogs. People are so clever!
5. Finding new outlets for my need to craft - upcycling old into new
6. Shopping, not necessarily buying though!
7. other words, putting lots and lots of miles on my Jeep...but it's all worth seeing the people I'm traveling for!

Some people that are so clever and creative:

My dad, he is constantly helping me think of ways to do things

Curly Girl Designs - some of the cutest artwork I have seen! I want to buy it all! Watch out, you may be seeing this pretty soon...a lot of my Christmas gifts are coming from here!

Etsy sellers - the entire website is one big mass of talented people. If you haven't yet, please check it out!

"The future is no place to place your better days" - dmb

Have I mentioned how much I love festivals? :) I am hoping to be a vendor again sometime soon! There are a few festivals in the spring around the area I will be living for student teaching. I have found some new items to make and sell, as well!
Also, I bought a domain! I am so excited to start with the web hosting and learning about web design! It will be a while, so I'll keep you posted :)
The coaster idea ended up being kind of a flop. I did not make them in time for my first festival so I am hoping to have some ready by the time I sign up for another one!
I also found a really cute lanyard at a gift store in Atlanta this past weekend that gave me an idea to make some of my own! (I have found that teachers love having unique lanyards for their school i.d.). My other idea is to make tote bags out of t-shirts. Both the lanyards and tote bags will require sewing, so I went to look for my sewing machine in the attic...
I went in to the attic for one thing and, two hours later, came out with a bunch of memories!

Some of the things I found:

Two of my baby blankets
"Uggy Baby" - a.k.a. Ugly Baby - complete with gumm-y band-aid marks on the knees
Pictures of my awkward pre-teen years with my middle school buddies
and my mom's college scrapbook, which was so neat to look at!

Also this weekend, my sister and I checked out Auburn University while on a short vacation to the spa. What a cute town Auburn and Opelika are! The campus is gorgeous and it was fun to see the last of the tailgaters from the game the day before.
